My Motto

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...'Wow! What a ride!'" author unknown

International President Sid Scruggs

Our International President Sid Scruggs

IP Sid Scruggs theme this year is to be A Beacon of Hope” to the world. He has asked us to use a new acronym for Lions – Loving Individuals Offering Needed Service and to make sure that each of our clubs has a Signature Service Project. Our IP says “We should be recognized in our communities for our Signature Service Project and not for how we raise money he continues by loving individuals and offering needed service we the Lions will make a difference in the world”. IP Sid also challenged all Lions to recruit two new Lions, one the replace ourselves and one to make Lions grow.

A few years ago IP Sid Scruggs authored the International Lions Mentoring Program, he said “it is very important that each newer member and new club be assigned a mentor“ but as DG I would also ask that each and every Lion serving in a leadership position to be mentor to someone about what you are doing and why it is important to Lionism. For example, if you have been your clubs secretary for a couple of years then mentor someone to take your place. Mentor and encourage our newest members to run for your clubs Board of Directors. Get to know your Zone and Region Leaders ask them to mentor you and look forward to serving on our District Cabinet or Utah Lions Foundation. Want to be your Club President. Want to be the District Governor. Plan on attending the next International Convention in Seattle. Be the Lion that makes a difference. As Utah Lions we all need your help!
